What is Kindermusik, anyway?

People ask me all the time, “What is Kindermusik, anyway?” The easy answer is that Kindermusik is a music and movement program for kids. This doesn’t even begin to tell the story of what Kindermusik is, and what it means to me and millions of families around the world. Kindermusik is a place where you and your child can come to play, learn, bond, and grow, as a family, as a child, as a parent. In the classroom we make friends, learn to share, when to stop, how to slow down and have a quiet moment. Many kids take their first two-footed leap off the floor in my classroom, which is a happy memory for us all. Many parents find cameraderie and reassurance in meeting other parents and sharing their experiences. On top of all this, in the Kindermusik classroom, we learn using all of our senses and begin to develop and nurture our future musicians, and create a lifelong love of learning.

The Kindermusik program is divided up into developmentally-appropriate curricula (class programs) by age group.

During the regular semester, materials for all classes except ABC and family time are $65 for the first child, $35 for the second in the same class.  Family Time materials are also $65, but that is for the whole family, saving you the cost of a sibling kit!  ABC materials are $60 per 4-month semester.  Materials are required for all students by my license agreement with Kindermusik International.  Payment plans and scholarships are available on a case-by-case basis.

During the summer months, we usually offer classes from the “Adventures” curriculum, which is designed to be a shorter semester with less expensive materials.
